How the player movement effects Woolwich players

With each year there are changes to rules and this next season will be one, with the greatest impact with the Made for Ontario Player Movement Policy. In short any one wishing to do AAA tryouts all rules stay the same; first register with your home association and pick up a permission to skate form. The dates for the AAA tryouts will be this spring starting the week of April 11 in Guelph or Waterloo. I will be signing these forms again this year, however at this point they will not be ready until the first week of April.

The next phase of the player movement for Woolwich players if AAA is not an option is AA at an OMHA AA center which is Guelph and this is the only option as our Association has a base rating of single A. For anyone who wants, here is the full motion to read.

Introducing Tony Code’s Woolwich Hockey Academy.

August 22-26th & Aug 29th-Sept. 2nd

The Woolwich Hockey Academyis a full day hockey focused camp with 2 on-ice and 2 off-ice sessions a day. The School is located at the beautiful Woolwich Memorial Recreation Centre in Elmira.

The Players will get a chance to use the whole facility and all it has to offer. The Hockey School's main focus is skill development on and off the ice. Mastering the essential skills of skating , shooting and puck handling on the ice and building speed, agility and power off the ice is the goal.

Everything is intended to be done in a fun and enjoyable learning environment. We believe that the right hockey/learning environment can show the players that hard work can be fun. They will see their own skills increase and want to see how far they can go.

Space is limited so register today and take advantage of early registration discounts.

Thanks

Tony Code

Woolwich Wildcats LL#1 (No Frills) Won 3 straight against Simcoe, Sudbury and Ottawa. Met Ottawa in the finals, went right down to the wire beating them 3-2 for the "A" championship. Back to back undefeated tournament champs. Way to go guys!!

Woolwich Wildcats LL#1 (No Frills) won the A Division this past week-end in Mount Forest. The Wildcats defeated hometown Mount Forest in their first game of the tournament 6-3. The 2nd game was against Drayton, in which Woolwich came back from a 3-0 deficit to force Overtime, which didn’t decide anything, so it went to a wild shoot out, which Woolwich came out on top 4-3. The final game against New Hamburg#4 was a hard fought game in which the score was back and forth. With 2 minutes left in the game and Woolwich ahead by 4-3, Woolwich took a late penalty, but managed to hang on, scoring an open net goal with 6 seconds left in the 3rd to take the game 5-3.
